Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Vancouver Royal Visit 2002

The Royal Vancouver Visit of 2002 of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh was a very prestigious occasion that designer Rosemin Jutha was commissioned for. She designed and coordinated all areas for the visit which included private meeting rooms, press rooms, stage decor, the Prime Minister’s luncheon at Hotel Vancouver, airport arrival and departures, and daily changes of the private residence florals at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.

Rosemin will never forget watching Her Majesty’s trunks being rolled into the hotel with all the ladies in waiting wearing lace gloves setting up Her Majesty’s residence for Her arrival. Designing the patio flowers that were a sea of golden yellow cymbidium orchids and the massive lobby table arrangement were the designer’s favourite pieces. It was delightful to observe which florals were requested and preferred by Her Majesty to be brought closer to Her powder room area.
